Basic Facilitation Training:
The Basic Facilitation Training for the Connect Program is a 8-10 hours training designed designed to provide trainees with a foundation in intercultural dialogue and facilitation. The training consists of a mixture of online sessions, readings, and multimedia resources and allows trainees to discuss various facilitation concepts and techniques and provides an opportunity for every trainee to practice these skills and receive feedback. This training is available in the spring and summer. It is meant to prepare trainees to the Advanced Facilitation Training.
Requirements: Anyone with a passion for dialogue and an interest in building meaningful cross-cultural relationships can apply.  All Connect Program Alumni are also eligible for Basic Facilitation Training - Please simply indicate in your application that you are an alumni and your university.
Time commitment: 2 hours of training sessions and 3 hours of homework per week for a period of 4-5 weeks.

Advanced Facilitation Training:
Advanced Facilitation Training for the Connect Program consists of a mixture of online sessions, readings, and multimedia resources, tailored for trainees that have a strong foundation in conflict resolution and facilitation and are ready for more advanced and specific techniques. Additionally, the training delves deeper into online facilitation and understanding Soliya curriculum, as well as providing additional opportunity to practice facilitation in both solo and co-facilitation formats.
This training is available as an intensive 5-week training in June or an 10-week training in October - December. It is meant to prepare trainees to facilitate for the Soliya Connect Program.
Requirements: Successful completion of the Basic Facilitation Training or having some facilitation experience prior to application.
Time commitment: 20 hours of training.

Public Squares Facilitator & Host Training:
The Public Squares Facilitator and Host Training is module designed to explain the process of Public Squares, the skills needed to ensure an effective process (advanced facilitation and consensus building skills) and the tools to go through the stages of Public Squares.
Requirements: For Public Squares Hosts, the successful completion of the Basic Facilitation Training for the Connect Program.  Public Squares Facilitators, the successful completion both the Basic and Advanced Facilitation Training for the Connect Program and to have facilitated in the Connect Program for 2 semesters.
Time commitment: 6 hours over a period of 3 weeks.

Public Squares Convener Training:
The Public Squares Convener Training is a module designed to explain the process of initiating Public Squares, forming teams of collaborators, deciding an effective format of Public Squares, advertising and recruitment (community outreach and social media skills) and supervising the implementation of Public Squares.
Requirements: The successful completion both the Basic and Advanced Facilitation Training for the Connect Program and to have facilitated in the Connect Program for 2 semesters.
Time commitment: 6 hours over a period of 3 weeks.

The following are new trainings that will be available soon for Soliya Network members:  
Connect Program 2.0 Training:
Available in Spring 2014. These are short training modules available to volunteers who have facilitated in the Connect Program for 2 semesters and wish to gain further training in pertinent group and dialogue dynamics. Trainings are a combination of video and synchronous training. These trainings will deepen skill sets and help facilitators contend with some often seen issues during facilitation.
Requirements: The successful completion both the Basic and Advanced Facilitation Training for the Connect Program and to have facilitated in the Connect Program for 2 semesters.
Time Commitment: 4-6 hours over a 2 week period.
